First of all, my apologies for being away for so long! Between knee surgery and travel that was not helpful to my recovery process, I am now back.

Scammers. I truly wish they would stop. While I was enjoying the sights along Route 66, I received an e-mail from an author. “She” introduced herself and indicated that she was reaching out to me because she enjoyed interacting with other authors. I didn’t answer her.

I received another e-mail from “her” while on the road. I didn’t answer her right away. When I got back home, I decided to answer “her” with a one-liner. “I am just settling back in from a fabulous Route 66 trip. I will be back to you shortly…”

I received another e-mail from “her,” and within the body of it, the following was written:.

“Books like yours deserve to be seen by the readers who would truly connect with them. Stories that help children navigate difficult emotions while still offering hope are incredibly valuable.

That got me wondering have you done any marketing or promotion for the book before? I’m curious because it seems like a book with strong potential, and I’d love to know what steps you’ve already taken to help it reach more readers.”

My scam radar registered off the charts. This, of course, was not the author. I write back. “So, I now know this is a scam. DO NOT contact me again.”

This is followed by an e-mail that states how offended “she” is by this. I wasn’t going to answer again, but I could not resist. In my next e-mail I said,”If you are the real R…a, you can FT me and talk. Otherwise, please stop! Thank you.”

I received an e-mail back that “she” was too busy working to FT. Of course. “She” is now blocked.

Anyway, I am busy reworking my series, and I hope to have everything completed by fall. I am also working on a new project that should be completed by the end of 2026, so please, don’t try to FT me because I just do not have time to talk. LOL.
